Tokugawa Shogunate was a military government system of Japan in the Edo Period, 1603 CE to 1867 BCE. Daimyos pledged loyalty to the Shogun and were required to maintain residence in the capital despite having provinces to govern. This system gave a more centralized structure to the feudal system.
