Describe and compare neurotransmission and neurotransmitters in both divisions of autonomic nervous system
Autonomic nervous system (ANS) is a part of the nervous system that controls various body functions including heart rate, respiration rate, digestion, urination, and sexual arousal. ANS is classified into two types such as sympathetic nervous system (SNS) and parasympathetic nervous system (PNS).
ANS supplies nerves to most part of the body including heart, blood vessels, pupils, liver, kidneys, stomach, bladder, intestine, salivary gland, digestive gland, and genitals. SNS is responsible for stimulating fight or flight response of the body. PNS is responsible for stimulating rest & digest and feed & breed response of the body.
