Describe about THREE F TESTS.
Describe about THREE F TESTS.
The F tests involves three basic steps, namely
1) F test of the equality of two variances.
2) Multiple comparison ANOVA.
3) Regression.
Here's the explanation for all one by one as follow;
F-test of the equality of two variances :
The F-test is sensitive to non - normality and most F-tests arise by considering a decomposition of the variability in a collection of data in terms of sum of squares.
The formula for the equality of two variances F-test statistic is as follows;
These sums of squares are constructed so that the statistic tends to be greater when the null hypothesis is not true.
In order for the statistic to follow the F distribution under the null hypothesis, the sums of squares should be statistically independent, and each should follow a scaled chi square distribution .
