Define the term ‘albedo’ and its importance for Earth’s energy balance.
Albedo
Albedo is the measure of the diffuse reflection of solar radiation out of the total solar radiation and measured on a scale from 0 to 1. The zero corresponds to the black hole that absorbs all radiation and one corresponds to a body that reflects all incident radiations.
Surface albedo
Surface albedo is defined as the ratio of radiosity received by a surface.
Astronomical Albedo
Astronomical Albedo are the albedo of planets, satellites and asteroids can be used to study much about their properties.
Terrestrial Albedo
Any albedo in visible light falls within a range of 0.9 to 0.4 is called as terrestrial albedo. That is of a fresh snow to one of the darkest substance charcoal.
