Balanced chemical equations are given as:

a) Reaction between Co(NO3)2 and Na2C2O4:

Co(NO3) +  Na2C2O4 CoC2O4   + 2NaNO3

Co(NO3)ionizes to produce Co2+ and NO3- ions and Na2C2O4 ionizes to produce 2Na+ and C2O4 2- ions.

Co(NO3)2Co2+  + 2NO3-

Na2C2O4 2Na+ + C2O42-

Co(NO3)2 + Na2C2O4   Co2+  + 2NO3- + 2Na+ + C2O42-

The equation can be rearranged as:

Co(NO3)2 + Na2C2O4   Co2+ + C2O42- +2Na+ + 2NO3- 

Co(NO3)2 + Na2C2O4   CoC2O4 +2NaNO3  

 

b) Reaction between Co(NO3)2 and Pb(NO3)2 :

Co(NO3) + Pb(NO3)2 Co(NO3)2+ Pb(NO3)2

Co(NO3)ionizes to produce Co2+ and two NO3- ions and Pb(NO3)2  ionizes to produce Pb2+ and two NO3 - ions.

Co(NO3)2Co2+  + 2NO3-

Pb(NO3)2Pb2+ +2 NO3-

Co(NO3)2 + Pb(NO3)2   Co2+  + 2NO3- + Pb2+ + 2NO3-

Though the reaction has different cations but the anions are same hence, product formed will be same as reactant combining. No rearrangement can take place here.
