Expert Solution
Step 1 Introduction

Specific heat capacity :  Amount of heat required to raise the temperature of 1 kilogram (Kg) substance by 1 kelvin

mathametical expression

 Q = m S ∆T

Given that

 Q = heat energy required =  ?  J

 m = mass of ethanol = 0.3 Kg x 1000 g/ 1 Kg = 300 g

S = specific heat = 2.44  J/g K

T = (T2 - T1)  = (19.5  oC   - 7.8 oC)   =   (292.5 K - 280.8 K )   =  11.7 K
