Based on the location of adipose tissues, why does the skin patch work?
White adipose tissue (WAT) and brown adipose tissue (BAT) are the two forms of adipose tissue that have historically been distinguished based on tissue color. The physiological distinctions between the white and brown adipocytes that make up these depots give birth to specialised tissue activities. The biggest AT volume is white adipose tissue, essential for insulin sensitivity, endocrine communication, and energy storage in most mammals, including humans. BAT, on the other hand, is most prevalent in animals after birth and during hibernation. Creating non-shivering heat by brown adipose tissue, which is essential for maintaining body temperature, takes energy.
