(b) Calculate the standard heat of reaction (kJ/mol) by using heat of formation method.
(c) Draw and label the process flow diagram completely.
(d) The nitrogen gas fed is 50% in excess while the hydrogen gas fed is completely reacted.
Calculate the molar amount (mole) of the reactants and products.
(e) By using heat of formation method and Table B.2 (Table B.8 is not allowed), prepare
an inlet-outlet enthalpy table and estimate the amount of heat added to or removed
(please state) in kJ per kmol of hydrogen fed if the products leave the reactor at 400°C.
(f) Nitrogen gas is used in excess in this reaction instead of hydrogen gas. Justify this
statement.
(g) Pure nitrogen gas would be preferred instead of nitrogen from air. Clarify this
suggestion.
