Maria, an attractive 22 years -old young woman with a mole at the side of her mouth which made her look like the sexy supermodel Heidi Klume, walked out the door of her place of employment, a high end shoe store, at 2pm on Saturday, 21st of February, 2018. She was not heard from nor seen again by her relatives, coworkers nor friends for the next 9 months. The police investigative team working on the case of her disappearance, uncovered that on that fateful Saturday afternoon, her supervisor had threatened her and proceeded to report her for theft after she refused to accept his sexual advances. Maria’s best friend also revealed that her boyfriend had broken off their two -year relationship the Friday prior because she was constantly being required to work overtime by her supervisor Angelo. In 2016, Maria who had escaped the constant emotional and physical abuse of her predatory uncle, by running away from home to live with her boyfriend whom she had recently met. He told the investigator that Maria had violent dreams, because of the repeated sexual abuse she suffered after her parents died in an accident when she was twelve years old. He felt sorry for her, but was worried because she had developed a dependency on alcohol to dull the painful memories. When the police investigators finally developed a solid lead, it revealed that Maria had found her way to Berbice, where she was employed as a sales girl in a classy boutique. However, the young woman they identified as Maria declared that her name was Monique and that she became an orphan when her parents migrated and abandoned her. She also claimed that she never worked or lived in Georgetown. The investigators could not find any legal records for the parents, who had purportedly migrated. She was living with the son of the boutique manager who had given her refuge after she had no place to stay just nine months prior. She worshipped her new boyfriend and if he goes to the washroom she would follow him. She once told her boyfriend that she feels dead on the inside.
