Let the mass of the water is mw and the mass of the iron horseshoe is mir and heat capacity of the the iron horseshoes is Cir and water is Cw , the initial temperature of the iron is Tir and water is Tw and afte dropped into water the final temparure of the mix system is T.

According to the law of conservation heat 

Heat gain by water = heat loss by the iron horseshoe
