Expert Solution
Step 1

A resonance structure is the depolarization of its conjugated lone pairs or pi - electrons.

While writing a resonance structure it's number of bonds and the number of lone pairs remains unchanged.

Also, no sigma bond should be broken.

Stability of the resonance structures:

1. Neutral molecule is most stable.

2. The molecule which have complete octet for each elements.

3. The charge localization, the negative charge should be on the more electronegative element while the positive charge should be on the less electronegative element.

4. There should be least separation between two opposite charges. But, there should be most separation between similar charges.

The structure which is most stable contribute most to the resonance hybrid.
