Expert Solution
Step 1: Introduction

When a river cuts off the stream and creates a free standing body of water it is known as an oxbow lake.

The Oxbow is u shaped valley. It is generally referred to as a curve in river valleys.

Natural leeves are the depositional features of a river which deposits sand and mud in the flood plain. These are two parallel lines in plain view.

Alluvial fans are the triangle-shaped deposits by the river. When a river deposits sediments at higher elevations in a triangular shape. This can occur anywhere in the river. These generally occur in mountain regions. When water discharges from high land to low land they form alluvial fans.

Deltas are also the sedimentary deposits by the river when a moving water body enters into a non moving water body. Deltas are like alluvial fans but developed at a different location. When a load carried out by the river is dumped into the sea they form deltas.
