  • It is used to treat nerve pain.
  • It is commonly used to treat ventricular arrhythmia.  
  • Nerve pain after shingles
  • Used to treat post herpetic neuralgia

2% lidocaine is used as a topical anesthetic agent. 

Duration of action: 10 min to 20 min(IV), 0.5 h to 3 h topically
