Lymph node is a kidney shaped organ located in the head and neck region. Lymph node is considered as secondary lymphoid organ of the immune system because activation of most of the B cells and T cells takes in this organ.
The primary function of lymph node is filtering of lymph or blood and transporting of white blood cells in order to fight infection. The structure of the lymph node includes capsule, subscapular sinus, cortex and medulla.
