A cantilever beam has a cross-section consisting of three wooden planks glued together as shown in the figure and is loaded by a widespread vertical load and an axial point load. a) Determine the shear stresses in both glue joints in the cross section where they are greatest. State in which cross-section, i.e. where in length (x-direction), this occurs. b) The loads give rise to a normal stress distribution in the various sections. At that cross section where the stresses are greatest, determine the dividing normal force in each of the three planks. You must therefore determine one based on the voltage distribution dividing normal force acting on each plank in this cross-section (x-direction). Be careful by specifying the direction of the normal forces and also specify here the longitudinal position of the cross section (x-joint).
