The Flapper movement of the 1920s and 1930s was started to celebrate the new freedoms and opportunities available to young women at the time. This movement was led by young women known for their personal freedom and for accepting the lifestyle which was viewed by patriarchal society as outrageous or immoral. Ellen Welles Page was also one of the significant figures of this movement. She also wrote an essay on this topic, i.e., "A Flapper's Appeal to Parents."
