Ethers name should be "alkoxyalkane" , lower carbons chain should be alkoxy side , where as higher carbon chain as parent chain
Williomson's etherification :
alkylhalide reacts with alkoxide ion to give ether as major product via SN2 mechanism . It is an example for nucleophilic substitution reaction
primary alkylhalides are more preforable while preparing ether, if we use secondary (or) tertiary alkyl halides elimination product is formed instead of substitution reaction
