Excel Assignment (10 points) Part 1 Watch the posted videos on basic excel functions and graph building. Note: if you are already comfortable using excel, feel free to skip to part 2. Part 2 Open the excel spreadsheet and perform the following tasks. Once you have completed each task, copy and paste the data and/or graphs into this document to prove you have completed each task. Do not submit the excel file on Canvas. Task 1 : These data depict test scores on 5 tests for 9 subjects. Calculate the average, median, max, min, standard deviation, and variance for each of the 5 tests. Next, find the average score on the tests for each subject. Then, in one cell, calculate the following number for each subject: the average of test 1 and 2, the average of tests 3, 4 and 5, minus the square root of the average of the 5 tests (average of test 1 and 2 + average of tests 3,4,5 – sqrt of average of 5 tests). Lastly, create a bar graph depicting the mean and max for each of the 5 tests. There should be two bars for each test. Y1 should be the scores. The horizontal axis will be the 5 tests. Don’t forget to create a title, legend and axes labels. Copy and paste your actual data table showing calculations and the created graph into this word document. (2 points) 7
Excel Assignment (10 points) Task 2 : These data depict height and weight for 10 different people. Height is in inches and weight is in pounds. Convert the height to meters and the weight to Newtons. Make a line graph showing these data. Put height in meters on Y1 and weight in Newtons on Y2. Subject name will be your horizontal axis. Don’t forget to create a title, legend and axes labels with the appropriate units. Copy and paste your actual data table showing calculations and the created graph into this word document. (3 points) 7
Excel Assignment (10 points) Task 3 : These data depict golf data. Two people hit golf balls using 5 different clubs. The horizontal distance traveled (in yards) for each club for each individual are given. In a bar graph, graph distance traveled on Y1 axis for the 5 difference clubs for each individual. The horizontal axis should be the subject name. Don’t forget to create a title, legend and axes labels with the appropriate units. Hint: the legend will list the types of club. Copy and paste created graph into this word document. (2 points) 7

Excel Assignment (10 points) Task 4 : These data depict standing long jump distances (in cm) between 3 different warm-up conditions (No warm up, dynamic warm up (Warm-up 1), and static stretch (Warm-up 2) for 3 subjects. Find the average of each warm-up condition, not the average jump distance for each subject. Use a line graph to display the data for each subject and the average (four lines total). Make the average line dark red. Choose different line colors for the 3 subjects. Bold all text. Y1 should be jump distance and the horizontal axis should be the warm up condition. Don’t forget to create a title, legend and axes labels with the appropriate units. Copy and paste your actual data table showing calculations and the created graph into this word document.
