Running Head: Fundraising Plan Project Proposal Background For my directed project during this session, I have chosen to create a fundraising plan for the nonprofit organization Love for Ladybug. I have worked with this organization as a volunteer many times in the past and after speaking with the organization’s director I am confident that Love for Ladybug will be an excellent tool to use during the class session. Love for Ladybug is a nonprofit organization based in Tampa, Florida, that is dedicated to bringing positivity to pediatric cancer patients through the creation of individualized and personalization care packages that are sent to children fighting cancer. The mission of Love for Ladybug is “Bringing positivity to pediatric cancer patients”. This organization holds a special place in my heart because I personally lost both my parents to cancer, so I know just how important a bit of positivity can be to patients and their families. When I contacted the director of Love for ladybug to discuss potentially using the organization for me directed project, the director shared with me that they have seen a massive increase in care package requests this year but have not seen the same increase in donations. Fundraising is an aspect on nonprofit administration that I have grown significantly in during my time in the program and I believe that focusing on creating a fundraising plan for Love for Ladybug will both fill the organization’s need and simultaneously push me to continue growing in my fundraising skills. In previous classes I have research fundraising in the digital age and utilizing social media to increase fundraising for an organization and I believe this prior research has laid a solid foundation for my final project. ·

Running Head: Fundraising Plan Project Proposal Project Objectives The purpose of this project is to develop a detailed fundraising plan for the nonprofit organization, Love for Ladybug. In its current form the organization operates on an “as needed” model in regards to fundraising. When a request for a care package would come in to the organization, the director would do a specific social media campaign and fundraising push in order to raise enough funds to send that specific care package. That model was working fine when the organization was first starting and remained small, but as the organization has the grown it has outgrown its current fundraising model. This project will  Focus on creating a year-long, detailed fundraising plan for Love for Ladybug  Determine how much funding Love for Ladybug will need to fulfill care package orders in 2023  Utilize a three-step approach that will combine social media fundraising, in-person fundraising events, and peer-to-peer fundraising. This fundraising plan will ensure that Love for Ladybug is able to stay ahead of its financial needs as opposed to fundraising after the care package request is submitted. This new fundraising plan will shorten the amount of time that families must wait for the care package after submitting the application.

Running Head: Fundraising Plan Project Proposal Work Plan November 7  Consultant and Love for Ladybug executive director meet to go over 2022 financial statements, care package inquiries, important dates, and discuss the skeleton fundraising plan. November 14  Budget for 2023 will be finalized. Consultant will begin work on the fundraising calendar. November 21  First draft of Fundraising Calendar will be completed.  Social media graphics for corresponding fundraising campaigns will be created. November 28  Consultant will meet with Love for Ladybug executive director to check-in and discuss any changes. December 5  Initial draft of completed fundraising plan will be finished.  Edit of the completing fundraising plan. December 9  Final copy will be sent to Love for Ladybug executive director.

Running Head: Fundraising Plan Project Proposal Products This project will include a detailed fundraising plan for 2023 to provide adequate funding to cover operational costs for Love for Ladybug during 2023. This plan will include 1. A fundraising calendar which includes a timeline, major dates, holidays, deadlines, and fundraising campaigns. 2. A toolkit with sample email-templates, social media graphics and captions, donor- outreach letters, etc. The main focus of this project will be to transition Love for Ladybug from in-person fundraising to a combination approach utilizing social media, peer-to-peer, and in-person fundraising. By developing a fundraising calendar for Love for Ladybug, the executive director can rely on at least a projected estimate of planning fundraising. Social media graphics, email-templates, and donor outreach letters will be used to supplement the fundraising calendar for better donor engagement.

Running Head: Fundraising Plan Project Proposal Credentials Elizabeth Melachrinoudis is a 24-year-old graduate student at Louisiana State University – Shreveport pursuing a Master of Science in Nonprofit Administration. Melachrinoudis began working in the nonprofit sector in 2018 while pursuing undergraduate degrees in criminology and sociology at the University of South Florida. Melachrinoudis’ passion for nonprofit work came from the personal experience of watching her parents’ battles with cancer. Through the tragedy there were organizations that provides much needed support and resources for her and her family. Now, with over four years of experience she is hoping to utilize the skills she has obtained through front-line work to consult with Love for Ladybug to help the organization achieve its fundraising goals. During her time studying at Louisiana State University – Shreveport, Melachrinoudis has taken classes such as Nonprofit Financial Administration and Nonprofit Governances and Decision Making that have provided the skills that will be used in this project. A background in sociology and as both a volunteer and a donor for many nonprofits has allowed her to grow outside of her comfort zone when studying financial concepts throughout this program. These concepts and learning will be utilized in the creation of the Fundraising Plan for Love for Ladybug.
