Report
Morgan Gawlak Reteach It Project Proposal Project Topic I have chosen to explore "How Social Class Impacts Families" as my project topic. This subject is covered extensively in our course, touching on various aspects such as access to education, health disparities, and overall family dynamics. It is a critical area to understand within the framework of family diversity and the broader social structure. Audience I will share my presentation on the class discussion board and then engage with at least 3 of my peers' presentations by watching them and providing constructive feedback. This approach will not only allow me to share my insights with my classmates but also gain varied perspectives from their projects. Project Description For this project, I will create an interactive presentation that incorporates elements of visual storytelling, such as infographics and short video clips, to illustrate the impact of social class on families. This presentation will highlight key statistics, case studies, and theoretical perspectives to provide a comprehensive view of the topic. I plan to use engaging visuals and narratives to make the content accessible and compelling. I will conclude the presentation with a series of thought-provoking questions aimed at encouraging my peers to reflect on their own experiences and observations related to social class and family dynamics. This interactive component is designed to foster a deeper understanding of the subject matter and stimulate discussion on the discussion board. Encouraging Empathy / Reducing Stigma To encourage empathy and reduce stigma, my presentation will include real-life stories and testimonials from families across different social classes. By sharing these personal experiences, I aim to humanize the statistics and theoretical discussions, fostering a deeper emotional connection with the subject. This approach will help demystify the challenges faced by families in lower social classes and challenge stereotypes, ultimately promoting a more empathetic and nuanced understanding of the impact of social class on families.
