Report
Randall Wyatt, PhD Special Instructor of Sociology Oakland University SOC 2010: Introductory Social Science Methods To Whom it may concern, You are receiving this survey because a student in this course chose you to participate in it for us to procure opinions on important topics for our final class assignment. Your responses to these questions are completely confidential. We do not ask for your name and will not make any attempts to personally identify you. Your response to this survey is purely for purposes of instruction in this course and is meant to provide students with hands-on experience in conducting an independent research project. We are interested in identifying whether demographic factors such as socioeconomic status, gender, or ethnicity may have any bearing on important social attitudes. Each question used in this survey derives directly from the General Social Survey, which is a survey produced and disseminated by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) every two years since 1972. These surveys and the information you provide in them will not be retained after the semester has ended. I would like you to know that by participating in this survey, you will provide invaluable support to students interested in conducting social science research in the future. No monetary incentives will be provided for completion of this survey. If you have any questions or concerns about any part of this process, you are encouraged to email me at rwyatt@oakland.edu and I will do my best to respond to your questions promptly.
