2 Gandhi's Legacy in a Globalized World: Addressing Cultural Diversity and Religious Pluralism As one goes through the philosophies and political objectives of the legend Mahatma Gandhi together with his life ventures, one question of what the present period is facing in terms of challenges and opportunities becomes of more focus. Given Gandhi's profound commitment to the principles of nonviolence, social justice, and equality, one might inquire: Given Gandhi's profound commitment to principles of nonviolence, social justice, and equality, one might inquire: "How would you recommend dealing with the challenges of multi-religious diversity and multiculturalism in the current interdependent world?" This query, though, is a small quantity of a cultural and a religious issue, which speaks of how vital it is to forge amity and mutual understanding amongst people who hold different beliefs and belong to different cultures ( Mahatma Gandhi’s 1st TV Interview with subtitle , n.d.). It is very much possible to guess that the answer of Gandhi to this question would also reflect the stress laid him on the principles of Ahimsa (nonviolence) and Sarvodaya (welfare of all). He could promote mediation as a possible solution, emphasizing the role of mutual empathy, understanding, and respect among people of different spiritualities and cultures. Gandhi would suggest that the values of tolerance, acceptance, and peaceful co-existence should be at the core of addressing the issues of religious and cultural differences, which are his accumulated experiences of his advocacy for Hindu-Muslim unity in India. The world has made progress in many areas, yet it still confronts many obstacles. Globalization increased cultural and religious conflict while increasing interconnectivity (Rai, 2021). We still face environmental degradation, economic imbalance, and human rights violations, making Gandhian teachings on sustainable living, economic fairness, and human
3 dignity relevant. Finally, Gandhi's fundamental principles still offer useful advice for everyday living. His values of nonviolence, empathy, and social responsibility will promote world harmony, equity, and inclusivity.
