Multiple Regression The article I used for this assignment was Evaluating Mentors in Violence Prevention: A Longitudinal, Multilevel Assessment of Outcome Changes. The article used a Multilevel linear regression to determine bystanders’ attitudes, beliefs, motivations towards intervening, or intervention behavior in gender-based violence and how impactful the mentor program was in high schools (Pagani et al., 2023). According to Frankfort-Nachmias (2020), multiple regression is used to explore the relationship between multiple independent variables and one dependent variable. I do believe multiple regression was the most appropriate choice for this study. Table one displayed results of participants who had witnessed between 0 and 4 situations of more and less serious gender-based violence (Pagani et al., 2023). Table two displayed the mean change score and intraclass correlation for confirmatory outcomes across schools (Pagani et al., 2023). Table three Table displayed unstandardized estimated effects on change scores for outcome variables, including within and between effects (Pagani et al., 2023). Finally, table four displayed unstandardized estimated effects on change scores for outcome variables, including within and between effects (Pagani et al., 2023). The results of the data were not found to be significant. The data reflected that the mentor program did not influence changes in bystanders’ behavior (Pagani et al., 2023). Additionally, the data reflects no change in schools’ ability to control behaviors or implement interventions (Pagani et al., 2023). The results of this study do not stand alone. The author indicates that the data was not significant in any area of study. Pagani (2023) reports the schools did not differ in their changes after the implementation of the program. Additionally, there was no change in behavior including
attitudes, beliefs, motivations towards intervening, and willingness to intervene in less serious situations of gender-based violence (Pagani et al., 2023). The results were not significant, therefore do not stand alone. The sample size for this study consisted of 1,396 students and 17 high schools in Scotland (Pagani et al., 2023). The author indicated that this was a significant enough effect size to be able to receive anticipated outcomes.
