Benchmark- Gospel Essentials
What is a worldview? Today there are numerous worldviews that people partake in
including Theism, Atheism, Pantheism, Deism, Polytheism, and the list goes on. A worldview is
one's perception or concept of the world from a spiritual, emotional, and physical aspect. This
discussion is going to be over the Christian worldview which also falls under the Theism
category, some points that will be analyzed will give a better understanding of their beliefs.
Christians believe that God is the reason towards all existence, and he is the father in heaven who
created everything there is today, as well as his creation in heaven. In addition to starting this
Christian worldview journey, this topic is going to broaden some new things about faith and
some questions one may have. To understand this worldview, these topics will have an overview
as well a discussion to get a better idea of this religion beliefs which are the nature of God, the
nature of Humanity, the nature of Jesus, and finally, the Restoration.
From a Christian worldview it is important to understand the nature of God and no better
way than to start with what the tribune God is like. According to Christian worldview: A students
guide Ryken (2013), “If the tribune God is the creator, then creation shows us who God is”
(p.33). This quote illuminates that God is the almighty creator and that through his creation in
this world we can see clearly who the lord is. Next question is what are God’s characteristics?
His characteristics are knowing all things, creator of all living things, power to do anything,
3
loving, as well as the father of all things. There is many different qualities to God’s up bringing
that will live on forever. Lastly, what is his creation? God’s creation is everything that you see
around you. This has been answered previously but
The nature of humanity from a Christian worldview perspective is now going to be
discussed. This is seen differently amongst other religions and practices but how Christians see it
is like being a mirror of God. They believe that you must be a version of God, which entails to
act and live a moral life with no sins to fully dedicate your life to the lord. The next question,
what is human purpose? In the Christian view they believe that humanity's purpose is to look
after the world that was created from the lord himself. In the bible is says “You shall love the
Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great
and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On
these two commandments depend on all the Law and the Prophets (Bible Gateway, ESV, 2001,
Matthew 22:37-40). And finally, what is the root cause of human problems? Most commonly sin
is the Christians root to problems mainly. Sin is described as living a life not for God, it shows
bad character and distrust through the eyes of the Lord.
Nature of Jesus is going to go over the works of the lord and the all-around perspective of
Jesus. What is Jesus's true identity? In Christianity, Jesus is known for being the son of man or in
other words the son of God. And now what was Jesus's kingdom purpose? The reason Jesus
came to earth was to save his people from their sins by his life and death then the resurrection
from that. The great purpose was intended to show to sinners their almighty God, so they may

also have eternal life with him. Lastly why is Jesus's identity and work significant for the
Christian worldview? In the bible it states, “He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins-
and not only our sins bit the sins of all the world” (Bible Gateway, NLT, 1996, 1 John 2:2).
Which means Jesus’s significant journey was dedicated for the people in the world that have
sinned and show them they can be forgiven and to live sinless.
The restoration, the belief Christianity has or should be repaired in society. What is the
solution to human problems according to the Christian worldview? In the restoration the only
explanation is to turn to God and sin no more. To do this people have to be disciplined and
realize what kind of life they want at the end of the day. It’s either give your life to God or live
for society, etc. What role does grace, faith, and. Repentance play in Christian salvation?
Ephesians 2:8 says, “by grace you have been saved through faith; and not by yourselves, it is a
gift of God”. Christians believe that they have a strong connection with God. It goes on to say
that faith is a gift from God that everyone has the opportunity of. Christians think that the
transformation of self-society happen through when Christ died on a cross for the sins of man.
This process typically happens when one is faced with the Holy Spirit through the word of God
or presence.
Mainly some basic foundations of the foundations of Christianity are, Belief on the Lord,
the death of the Lord also known as the resurrection, the coming of church and the holiness from
participating, and finally Jesus Christs second coming. The essential of Christian Worldview is to
have a relationship with God or the holy spirit, praise the lord and learn what the message is
5
about. It’s essential to have faith, love, happiness and live your life through how the Lord wants
one to. And therefore, be a good human, this is all about your actions and what one chooses to
live up to those actions. Christian viewers believe to act a certain way because of the teaching of
Christ. Having an influence that proliferates love, patience, manners, humility, and self-
awareness.
Previously were some background answers of the Christian worldview to give a better
concept of the worldview. What are the benefits or strengths of the Christian worldview as it
relates to human value and dignity? Because this worldview is based on God’s word, Christians
can use the teaching and spread it to more individuals to keep on sharing the message. Christians
contrast with other religions/ worldviews because it says God is in a part of the world, creating a
continual process by the becoming of the Lord. Christianity is majorly impacted on its believers
every day.
To conclude, the nature of God is important because it describes God’s actions and the
steps, he follows and obeys by. Gods’ characteristics is loving of all people, worthy, leader and
creator of the world. His creation is every living thing that is around us, everything is from God.
The nature of humanity’s human nature is a human living and deciding rather you pick a religion
and obey by that or to just live your own life. The human purpose is to live a sinless life, God
says in the bible that sins can be forgiven but to try your best to not sin, live a faithful life. The
root cause to human problems is sin. Jesus’s identity is the son of God. Jesus’s kingdom purpose
was to die on the cross for everyone, and to be born again. His identity and work are significant
6
because, it tells a story of creation, and the word is then spread amongst other people. The
solution to human problems according to the Christian worldview is, to live the best sinless life
you can and to spread the word of Jesus as well as praise the lord. In this worldview Christians
tend to think that the transformation from a self-point of view is done in many ways including
baptize, faithfulness in service, fellowship which can cause growth in love, knowledge and grace
of Christ.
