Why is it important to know what you believe and why you believe it?
The ideals of religion or nonbelief are usually instilled in the children of the world by their
parents, extended family members and their environment. All these influences mold the
children’s beliefs and what they know to be the truth.
Once they come of age, they will either
follow what has been instilled or they will set out to find their own truth and beliefs. Those that
have a belief are often guided by that belief. The understanding of what we believe and why we
do is important because it gives us a strong basis for our spiritual path.
It will help us be stronger
believers of our religion and give us the fortitude to defend our ideas when they are questioned.
Identify what you believe about God, the Bible, and Jesus Christ and why do you believe these
things?
I believe there is only one God, he is the one who created everything and is the source of all life.
I firmly believe that the Bible is God's inspired Word, I believe that God sent Jesus to save us all.
In John 14:6 we are told: “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man
cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (KJV) I believe that by knowing God and having faith he
will be with me every step of the way in my journey guiding me in my actions and words.
