Thinking ahead, for the one-way between-subjects ANOVA, will we need to distinguish between a one-tailed or a two-tailed test corresponding to the alternative hypothesis? When answering, consider : what the alternative hypothesis is and whether the F-ratio can be negative.

2. Given the F -critical value and F -ratio or the α -level and p -value that we now have for our data, what decision will you make? Reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis and why? Sketch it out on the diagram below or sketch your own diagram.

3. Presume that q = 3.40 (α-level = .05). Calculate Tukey’s HSD. Then see which of the differences between your group means (i.e., one group mean- minus another) are larger than the HSD absolute value. 4.
