Give a brief summary of the film
.
The historical background of the Committee on Un-American Activities, its involvement
during the Cold War and Red Scare, the effects of its investigations on different individuals and
organizations, and the succeeding criticism and decline of the committee would all be covered in
the video summary. It would also focus on the larger effects of HUAC's actions on American
culture as well as the ongoing discussion of how to strike a balance between individual freedom
and national security

What institutions failed to protect the rights of the people? How
?
There have been the instances where various institutions in the United States failed to
protect the rights of people. When it comes to protecting individuals' rights, governments and
law enforcement agencies have at times failed by using excessive force, engaging in police
brutality, and violating due process. The court, which is tasked with maintaining justice, has
come under fire for making biased decisions that violate people's rights. Prison systems violate
offenders' basic rights by failing to provide humane conditions and basic medical care. Agencies
responsible for enforcing immigration and border laws have been accused of violating the rights
of immigrants and asylum seekers through actions such as family separations and accelerated
deportations without following correct legal procedures

Could that type of situation happen in today's America? Why? Why not
?
Institutions can fail to uphold citizens' rights, and modern America offers several
examples of this. Mass imprisonment and police brutality are only two examples of how the
criminal justice system has come under fire for contributing to racial inequities and frequently
leaving marginalized groups with no effective means of recourse. Marginalized groups continue
to have uneven access to opportunities due to social and economic inequalities. The protection of
individual liberties is in doubt due to the deterioration of privacy rights and worries about
governmental surveillance in the digital era. Human rights issues have been raised in relation to
immigration laws and how immigrants are treated at the U.S.-Mexico border. These mistakes can
be ascribed to a lack of accountability, institutional biases, political pressure, and ineffective
legal safeguards. However, continual movements for public education and advocacy aim to
overcome these problems and make institutions responsible for defending the rights of all
citizens
