Subsystem: Politics & Government Local politics and government policies impact conditions that influence the health status of people. For this assignment, identify two conditions you observed that can have a negative influence on health, which can be addressed by the local government. Develop two policy recommendations to present to Mayor Hill that address conditions you identified that can negatively affect the overall health of a community. Indications of political involvement Observed: Not observed: Policy Recommendations Identify two observations in the city that can have a negative influence on the health of a community unsanitary living conditions/environmental hazards rodent/pest infestation Related social determinant(s) health With unsanitary conditions it can led to harmful exposures which can result in health conditions These animal carry a number of diseases and if the infestation is not taken care of the Population most likely impacted All members of the community All members of the community Policy recommendation Mandate citywide clean-up, create different programs that are environmentally friendly, fine those who have an excess amount of “trash” With a citywide clean up it will help decrease the infestation because there will not be breeding grounds, food, hiding spots/homes for them to live. And discuss extermination Evidence based rationale with statistical data CDC states that poor environmental care/quality has a very high risk of the population developing health related issues due to their living conditions/environmental hazards The CDC states that mice/rats spread a large number of diseases. Biggest rodent and pest control starts with controlling the issue in homes first.
