Government
Please explain the difference between dual federalism and cooperative
federalism. Which type of federalism do you think the framers of the Constitution
supported?
Dual Federalism is a form of government in which the central government and the states both
retain supremacy within their own domains and are each in charge of specific policies.
Cooperative Federalism is a form of federalism in which the federal government and the states
share responsibility for making decisions. States adhere to federal regulations, and there are
things like shared costs and administration.
The kind of federalism the Constitution's creators liked is called dual federalism or "layer cake
federalism." They believed in splitting the powers and jobs of the government between the
national (federal) government and the state governments. This way, no one group could have
too much control over the people. It's like having two separate layers of government, each with
its own tasks and authority, to keep things fair and balanced.
