Session 5 Final Assignment

In this course, I was scared and nervous to take this class because I had never taken
anything like this before. I learned a lot from this course, and for the past five weeks, we have
discussed the concept of a worldview and summed up several different worldviews: Christianity,
Secularism, Marxism, New Spirituality, and Postmodernism. In this final paper, I will talk about
Christianity and Secularism. My paper will discuss each worldview's ideas and compare the two
worldviews.
A biblical worldview is based on the infallible Word of God. Christian theism is a
worldview regarding reality, the world, humanity, knowledge, salvation, ethics, and history. The
greatness of God is the central tenet of Christian theism. The world is "charged with the grandeur
of God. A Christian worldview affirms God as the sovereign and almighty Lord of all existence.
Such an affirmation rejects any form of dualism, that matter has eternally existed or that matter
must be evil since it is, in principle, opposed to God, the Source of all good.
Christianity is a religion and philosophy of life which views God as the supreme being of
the universe. Christians focus their energy on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Christians believe God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, referred to as the "Messiah." to save the
world. Many Christians believe that we must pay for our sins. Any sins we create fall back into
the sins we do in life.
Problems like these occur due to ignorance and lack of education that people were taught
wrong. Secularists reject the idea of God and his powers of redemption. Secularists instead rely
on education and science to improve the world. Independence is to practice your beliefs and
equality for religious s and nonreligious individuals. Christians believe that God is fantastic and
knows what he does in life.
God is a good God; he sits high and looks low on everyone. Heaven and hell exist; only
God can choose where everyone goes when they leave this earth. Christianity "posits the
existence of God as a personal, relational, creative being who has made himself known through
nature and Scripture" (Myers & Noebel, 2015, p. 477). Christians believe we are God's image
and creation because he made us. God created everyone the way he wanted us to be completed.
After reading about Secularists, my main concern is in the here and now and human
beings as opposed to eternity. I could not believe after reading Secularists do not believe there is
a God. Secularism states, "God is either nonexistent or irrelevant" (Myers & Noebel, 2015, p.
479). Secularists are atheists by Conviction. I care for no one who believes in God because God
is real. God is the man who gave us life and a purpose to live and breathe every day we wake up.
Some Christians think they know everything when it comes down to beliefs. Christians
believe they can learn things because of God and his actions. Christian Philosophy talks about
reconciliation between science and faith. Many practices of nature explain the help of Christian
revelation. Christians believe in a harmonious balance between science and religion.
Phenomena have a natural explanation about Christians and the different things going
on". Since nature is all that exists, any immaterial "the soul, the afterlife, God - do not exist by
definition" (Myers & Noebel, 2015, p. 481). The scientific method can explain reality to a
Secularist. Christian ethics focuses on moral order. Christians believe "all things good, true, and
beautiful are defined in God's character" (Myers & Noebel, 2015, p. 483). Christians are
everywhere and everywhere today because of God and the fantastic things in the world.
Next, reading about a Christian worldview, the family structure is critical to the
institution of society. All family members are responsible for carrying out the responsibilities of

the Lord. Since there is no God, let Secularism tell it. Secular sociology suggests that "society
causes us to do what we do. We aren't making choices but responding to external stimuli" (Myers
& Noebel, 2015, p. 486). Christians believe that God is the only legislator. Then Christians think
that "the value of persons, as well as the balance between person and society, and the valuable
roles of the family, government, and church" (Myers & Noebel, 2015, p. 486). In the Christian
worldview, God influences the laws and his followers by providing the information they need to
take. The Ten Commandments act as the laws for Christians to follow. Secularists believe they
can give sense to themselves, their concerns, ideas, and philosophies.
Christianity and Secularism differ, but similar things can allow for common ground.
Christians and Secularists both believe in moral values. They differ in origin; both religions aim
to live a peaceful life. Christians and Secularists can appreciate each other by comprehending
that both believe in different principles and the worth of humans. Christianity and Secularists
discuss various topics like homosexuality and abortion.
Finally, the two religions differ; they can find common ground on economic justice. They
both can be flexible and accept an alliance for social welfare or environmental needs. Subjects
like this deal with abortion and gay marriage but must remain indifferent. What is most
important for the religions is to accept the differences and live the life you have. Christians can
be forgiving and see the good in people, and Secularists can be harsh on Christians' belief
systems of God.
In conclusion, this has been a fantastic journey in this course. I have learned so much in
the class from doing different assignments and reading my classmate's discussions. I look
forward to seeing where this journey will lead me because it will take me where I need to learn
all the information I learned in this class. I recommend people continue to work hard and take
this class because they will learn a lot. I appreciate this class and everything it taught me, and I
always kept God first throughout this process.
