Reacting to Change
One change in particular that I decided to embark on is the decision to go back to school. It was a
huge decision I had to make because of my age. I was not sure if I made the right decision or not,
especially after I had started and was already a couple of quarters in my schooling. I realized that
I did not research enough on my current program and I had to figure out an alternative route to
take to put my degree to use and become financially stable.
Philosophy of change is practical for times of change (Rayner,1).
It prepares us for life in the
21st century.
Framing Change
When I first signed up for my journey back in school, I had a growth mindset and I was excited
to take on the challenge ahead but after researching different branches I could take or the
branches that I really wanted to take, I started getting a fixed mindset and wondered what I was
thinking taking on a challenge like this at my age. But I am staying strong to graduate and never
give up.
Framing psychology looks at things for a different perspective (better health, 2). For example,
some people may see a glass half while others may see it as half empty' Better health, which has
been verified by a LPC Laura Maddox, which they explain the framing effect or framing change.
Managing Change
I am managing this change by keeping an open mindset and understanding that there are plenty
of opportunities for me in this field I just have to research and exploit and weigh out my pros and
cons.
The underlying assumption of the classical, linear approach to organizational change is that it
involves a series of predictable, reducible steps that enable senior management to establish a new
work order and routines. This article confronts the conventional assumption that change is a
finite, one-off phenomenon, representing the exception rather than the rule. Beginning with the
rational change model as an exemplar, and subsequently by examining 10 organizational change

philosophies, this article reviews the fundamental assumptions governing different change
management approaches. In revealing the biases and unit-dimensional nature of theoretical
philosophies of organizational change, this article argues for a multi-philosophy approach that
applies an interactive mix of continuity and change. Managing the continuity-change continuum
helps to guard against complacency and inertia, and underpins an organization's capacity both to
exploit and explore (Graetz, 3).
