Ashley Lawson CHDV B20 3/9/2023 Professor Pimentel Personal Philosophy of Education The most critical thing at a childcare facility is safety; thus, the children must feel safe and secure. The fundamentals of life are something every child should know. A few examples are reading, writing, mathematics, science, the arts, and play. A solid foundation in education is essential for providing children with the knowledge they need to thrive. Among preschool, goals are preparing children for success in elementary school and providing a platform for their opinions to be heard. Giving them a platform to express themselves can help them feel secure. Children learn what sort of society they live in based on how their parents and caregivers react to their needs. How other people, particularly parents, treat them shapes a child's developing sense of trust, safety, and love. A youngster learns that the world is safe and loving when an adult responds to his or her screams—even if those tears are caused by something as simple as a dirty diaper—by changing the diaper gently while chatting with the child. A baby who is ignored or yelled at while crying due to a dirty diaper may develop anxiety and fear about the world (Knibbs 2021). When adults show genuine interest in and listen to a school-aged youngster, the child develops a sense of security. Love is shown to teenagers when adults include them in decision-making and value their input.
According to Patar & Akcinar (2021), children are shaped into resilient and selfless individuals by the affection and attention they get from their caregivers. Putting yourself in a child's shoes and getting insight into their requirements might be challenging. This is because adults prioritize their needs as caretakers above those of the children they are responsible for. For instance, we can become irritated if a kid is ill just before going to work or a meeting. Some may have wondered, "Why does this kid consistently do this to me?" Kids become ill without meaning to inconvenience us. Said, sometimes our wants directly oppose what we need. Teaching is most effective under specific situations and with certain methods, and this varies from kid to child. Several factors affect a student's ability to learn in school. One such one is the method of instruction used by the instructor. Everyone benefits when a teacher engages the students in conversation by asking them questions. The students will learn more and be healthier in a classroom where everyone has a good mood. Since kids will spend their whole lives interacting with others, their social skills are a significant factor. Preschools must provide a setting conducive to learning and growth in all areas for the children enrolled there. An adequately marked physical environment in education facilitates children's active learning experiences and creative problem-solving abilities (Moore, 1987). In this light, it becomes clear that a well-thought-out and meticulously organized physical environment in education is crucial to realizing the program's objectives. Learning centers, which will be established in the classroom, play a crucial role in helping the program achieve its objectives, especially in preschool settings. Education is crucial because it equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to address global issues and promote positive change. A student's responsibility in the classroom is always to be open to and receptive to new information. Students should have motivation, a need
for knowledge, and a healthy dose of reverence for their instructors. In the classroom, I strongly advocate free student speech. The classroom environment should be adaptable enough to encourage pupils to think beyond the box. The student is responsible for putting what they learn into practice to identify their areas of strength and improvement. Teachers should act as learning facilitators by directing students to relevant resources and ensuring they have the means to acquire new knowledge. Also, I want to mandate group projects for my students to encourage their personal and communal development. Every student will have a voice and contribute to my classroom. Educators should not make students feel guilty or ashamed for expressing their political beliefs. Every student's requirements must be considered without exception in all class activities. Every class should be designed with the student's success as a whole in mind. I can speak to the importance of a teacher's positive reinforcement from personal experience. As a teacher, I want to inspire my pupils by giving them work that challenges them while delivering positive reinforcement. Teachers should care deeply about their subject matter and be open to student feedback. The best way to teach a youngster is to let them listen and watch as their learning concepts are implemented. In light of this, I would be open to trials that aim to further our knowledge of children. The growth and development of children should always get more attention. Also, a more comprehensive approach to classroom management is warranted. A holistic learning environment caters to the students' psychological, social, and academic needs (Baier et al., 2019). A holistic classroom is one in which students and instructors work together to achieve shared goals for the classroom experience. A good teacher can and will address student concerns. The curriculum should balance academics and extracurricular. The subjects taught in schools should be foundational. History, literature, and science are only a few examples

of foundational disciplines that should be included. The extracurricular would let students unwind after a long day of studying. Playing is a child's natural and pleasurable means of maintaining physical health, emotional well-being, and positive mental outlook. Furthermore, classroom tactics should be designed to guide students in the right direction and provide valuable answers to questions brought up in class. Last but not least, grading students should be ongoing and cumulative. It is crucial for educators to regularly test their students' grasp and application of each new subject they introduce. In light of this, my educational philosophy emphasizes open dialogue between teachers and students and encourages the use of several evaluation methods. Essentialism and progressivism are central to how I see education. Teaching from an essentialist perspective helps ensure that students learn crucial knowledge, form positive identities, and acquire marketable abilities (Kooli, 2019). Fundamentalists insist that schools should instill pupils with age-old beliefs and qualities. Such characteristics include perseverance, regard for others, intellectual acumen, and a focus on the practical. Essentialists teach a conventional curriculum emphasizing physics, history, literature, and mathematics. It is clear from my guiding principles that I also hold these views. Like my own, essentialists stress the importance of focusing on the relationship between the instructor and the students in the classroom. Educators have a duty to guide their pupils toward intellectual and moral maturity. In an essentialist evaluation system, continuous testing is used to gauge pupils' development and comprehension. As a teacher, we must regularly test students' knowledge to see whether we are progressing. Students, according to essentialists, must be able to use the information and abilities they acquire. They need to be well-grounded in reality and able to maintain order in their thoughts.
My own views on education are similar to those of progressives. The progressive stance on education is that it should be centered on the student, not the curriculum or the instructor (Wulf 2019). To that end, schools should focus on the complete kid. If you paid attention to a kid, they would do well in school and grow as a person. In addition, progressives stress the importance of putting classroom knowledge to the test. Checking the viability of a concept requires carrying out experiments. It is essential to think critically and approach challenges by trying different approaches and coming up with solutions. Hence, although I share specific values with progressives, essentialists are closer to my worldview.
