Madison Farley Chapter #1 Exit Slip Question: Explain some of the possible intrinsic rewards of a teaching career. Reflection: There are many intrinsic rewards of a teaching career, however, those may differ among certain teachers. One of the strongest rewards perceived by teachers is that of working with students. Being able to interact and connect with children is considered a reward. Another example of an intrinsic reward would be the fact of performing a significant social service. This reward brings satisfaction to teachers knowing they are doing good for the community. Having support and stimulation from fellow colleagues is also considered as an intrinsic reward. The last reward is that of teaching itself. Educators view the process and the work put into this career as highly gratifying.
