Finding harmony with one's own principles and beliefs is essential preparation for a career in education. Teachers encounter a wide range of challenges, a few of which might call for
a more philosophical perspective on education. Knowledge is developed and learned in accordance with one of four fundamental educational philosophies. Perennialism, essentialism, progressivism, and reconstructivism are among the most widely held views in the field of education. Educators and learners should be on same standing. Those who hold this perspective insist that classroom instruction must be supplemented by real-world application by the learner. On the other hand, essentialists argue that information should be presented to children in a structured and organized fashion. This idea further highlights the importance of educators teaching pupils with a strong sense of intellectual and ethical character. Among the many possible worldviews, essentialism and progressivism are the ones that best represent my own. This article will focus on the methods I may use while instructing others on the topic of educational philosophies.
“Progressive educators propose that learning outcomes must include the development of civic-minded individuals in order to preserve values that uphold democracy” (Tippett and Lee). The standard view of schooling is contested by progressives. The emphasis is on the student, not the instructor or the material covered in class. The instructor makes an honest attempt to modify instruction for every student's specific requirement and preferred mode of operation. Children are
not only helped with their personal problems, but also the other students. This line of thought stresses the need of helping youngsters develop their own independence while also encouraging their use of their imagination and their ability to resolve issues on their own. Teachers who advocate the progressive worldview are expected to adapt their approaches to the needs of their students. To keep students interested and involved, teachers often utilize examples from the real

world. Therefore, it is beneficial to include current events into the classroom to increase students'
interest and participation. It may not be the ideal technique to only rely on what we have learnt in
class or from the textbook. If I were a teacher, I'd use humor and relevant examples from everyday life to maintain my students interested and help them learn. The progressive school of thought encourages students to embrace new experiences and perspectives as they mature. Similarly, classes for high schoolers should be held in facilities designed with their age group in mind.
The essentialist stance is one that is conducive to effective teaching and learning. “Essentialism in education asserts that common and essential ideas and skills belonging to a certain culture should be taught to all citizens at the same level at especially primary school level. To do this, the teacher's authority in the classroom is emphasized and the subject matter is the center of the curriculum” (Sahin).
According to essentialism, schools should stress the importance of discipline, perseverance, and rule-following. An essentialist teacher may employ educational guesses, teamwork, and student solving problems to get students more involved in the learning process. Students may be encouraged to engage more deeply in their academics, to be more creative, and to develop their critical thinking skills via a variety of methods. They develop into more autonomous intellectuals and are more prepared for life outside their high school consequently.
In conclusion, educational philosophies have a significant impact in shaping the educational experiences of individuals. As a lens through which to view the different pedagogical theories, the many possible pedagogical approaches are analyzed. Therefore, I think I'd be more effective with progressiveness and essentialism, as they help pupils make connections between classroom learning and real-world problems. Discipline is taught by using

the concepts of reward and punishment to all students. Furthermore, classroom discussions are designed to encourage learning outcomes. Only when students feel safe sharing their opinions can creatively thinking and a more class involvement flourish. The essentialist and progressive tenets of education would therefore produce effective graduates who take an intense interest in their studies and actively engage in the learning experience.
