PHIL 1402 INTRODUCTION TO PHILOSOPHY UNIT 6 DISCUSSION ASSIGNMENT
1.
As women, we’re aware of potentially dangerous aspects in seemingly safe situations, and this is true based on intuitive knowledge.
Intuitive knowledge is based on feelings, faith, beliefs, etc rather than logic [landauer, Rowlands, 2001]. That being said, the above example to intuitive knowledge could arguably be called logical knowledge, expect for the fact that on numerous occasions women tend to feel unsecured or uncomfortable in certain situations, around people they know or don’t, resulting in that intuitive desire to escape the scene.
2.
The Bible is my source of authoritative knowledge.
The Bible is a source of authoritative knowledge because of my faith as a Christian. As Christians we ought to believe that the Bible was written with the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Hence when we are read, we ought to understand and practically obey what we read in the Bible, thereby we are directly talking, listening and submitting to God’s commandments.
3.
Getting good grades when we put in sincere effort is logical knowledge.
At the University of the People, we are tasked weekly with assignments, discussions forum, and learning journals to help increase knowledge. In order to do well, we must continuously put in sincere effort to complete all the task place before us
weekly. This will help us to understand the topic for the week and have a better understanding of that course for that term.
4.
The human body requires oxygen to live is an example of empirical knowledge.
Oxygen is not conceivable to our naked eye, but it is required for our daily respiration and survival. It has been proven scientifically, without oxygen [residual oxygen] our fleshly body will not be able to last more than 10 minutes. An example to the above fact; one should hold his or her breath for more than 10 minutes, then it would prove the importance of oxygen.
