By incorporating particular abilities into nursing education and practice, the QSEN program aims to increase the quality and safety of healthcare. These competencies include patient-centered care, cooperation and collaboration, evidence-based practice, quality improvement, safety, and informatics. The article discusses the applicability of QSEN competencies to APN jobs in the context of the global study on APN practice. APNs are highly trained and specialized nursing professionals; thus, their practice should align with these competencies to provide patients with safe and high-quality care(Wheeler et al., 2022). One component that resonates with me is the ongoing challenge the APN profession faces in titling, title protection, regulation development, credentialing, and impediments to practicing. APNs' difficulties in delivering high-quality treatment and successful contributions to the healthcare system are brought to light by this(Wheeler et al., 2022). This is significant because it emphasizes the necessity of ongoing support and lobbying for APNs and removing regulatory and policy obstacles that prevent their implementation. By emphasizing crucial skills and knowledge areas, the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) competencies provide a framework for defining the advanced practice position. Advanced practice nurses (APNs) are guided by QSEN skills to provide high-quality, secure, patient-centered care. (Baernholdt et al., 2021) APNs must exhibit expertise in patient-centered care, which entails appreciating and honoring every patient's unique preferences, values, and needs. Additionally, they must demonstrate good cooperation and collaboration abilities by collaborating successfully with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes. The QSEN competencies change as nurses move from the RN to the APRN job to reflect the heightened clinical proficiency, leadership obligations, and autonomy connected with advanced practice. With a more vital awareness of the evidence-based practice, APRNs implement QSEN principles while assuming leadership positions within interdisciplinary teams, speaking out in favor of quality improvement, and displaying highly developed critical thinking abilities.
