Are there signs of erythema (redness) indicating infection or inflammation? Is the skin macerated due to oedema? Does the skin feel cold to touch (indicating poor vascularisation)? Is the skin broken? Does the person have a known skin infection? Does the skin feel the same as the surrounding area? Is there epidermal stripping?
