Topic 2 dq 2
Hello professor and class,
A safety net hospital is a medical center that has legal obligations that supplies patients with
healthcare even if they aren't able to pay. There is a large number of individuals who does not
have medical insurance, and Medicaid patients who have been cared for by medical
professionals who cannot afford the rest of the services that have been provided to them.
Safety net hospitals usually rely on public finances (Moura,2021). Charity care is financial
assistance that is based on healthcare services that provides patients with discounts who are
eligible based on requirements. Charity care can be provided to patients who are insured and
those who are not insured (Levinson et al., 2022). Hospitals have a wide range of options
concerning their own information based on charity care, and the information is shifted towards
many hospitals(Levinson et al., 2022).There is not a clear understanding the share of low-
income patients who are eligible for charity care and who benefits from the programs.
