2 The process chosen for this project is ‘X-ray ED Patient.’ In previous assignments, workflow diagrams were created and explained that showed the process for a walk-in patient that arrives with imaging needs. Areas of improvement were identified in terms of cutting down imaging wait times for patients in order to increase efficiency and maintain competitive advantage over nearby facilities. An ‘express’ lounge where patients are identified as ambulatory and able to walk by themselves was proposed, allowing in and out imaging services for mobile patients. This new express lounge system is reflected in the following swim lane charts. The Level 1 ‘Handoff’ diagram and Level 2 ‘Service’ diagram are included below.
