Source Evaluation Worksheet
Part I: Topic
The topic I’ve chosen the central idea for my Week 7 Field of Study Project is attention
deficit/hyperactivity disorder or “ADHD.” I’m hoping to gain some knowledge along with
submitting a great assignment, because I’ve been recently diagnosed with ADHD, and I’m
interested in all the areas of effect that it can have ranging from children to grown adults, like
me. As I’ve already got a slight head start on research, I’m looking forward to using the skills I’ve
learned from this class to develop a project that is fact-based and stimulating, as well as attain
some knowledge and ideas that can positively benefit my life as an adult with ADHD.

There’s A LOT of information in this article. It starts with the objective of the study, which is the
assessment of cognitive functions of adults with ADHD using subjective assessment as well as
psychometric testing which is objective neuropsychological assessment. It will continue with the
participant information and then with the result of the study. The authors then go into ADHD in
adulthood and the symptoms that have been associated with it. For example, social dysfunction,
low self-esteem, reduced quality of life, impulsivity, which are linked directly to impairments
such as low academic achievement. The method of study and results are discussed and is
concluded with what each type of study revealed about the dysfunctions of adults with ADHD.
