There are no other words besides disgust while watching this video. You go to a doctor hoping they have the best intentions for your well-being and then find out they have been lying to you about your “terminal” illness. I could not imagine hearing the news that
this illness will kill you but then also now you must start a treatment that has terrible side
effects. Chemotherapy can cause fatigue, loss of appetite, nausea, bowel issues such as constipation or diarrhea, hair loss, mouth sores, and skin and nail problems. It can also cause trouble concentrating or remembering things. There can also be nerve and muscle effects and hearing changes (Cancer Council Victoria. (2022, May 3)). How can someone knowingly make someone go through that just for their own monetary gain? In the clip, they said that the patient wanted him to be sentenced to 100+ years in jail. They said that life in prison would be 60 years but the people he treated wanted the maximum length of time that he could get. Honestly, I do not blame them. If I were put through years of treatment, emotional distress, and learning all of that was for nothing, I would want him to get the maximum sentence as well. Cancer Council Victoria. (2022, May 3).
