Board Meeting Adaptive Plan: (25 points) According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC),   one in four adults   in the United States lives with a disability. This means that a large portion of the workforce may need some sort of accommodations to allow for gainful employment.   In this assignment you are to focus on the different levels of abilities among your guests or attendees of the board meeting you are coordinating and planning. Scenario A : As the meeting coordinator you must make sure that your guests with disabilities have access to and participation in every aspect of your meeting. You will use the American with Disabilities Act Regulations as a reference to make the appropriate accommodations. John, one of the board members, has Muscular Dystrophy and uses a motorized wheelchair to ambulate. He has little to no movement of his left arm. He is verbal, drives his accessible van, and can use a computer. The meeting will take place in your office building. Here are images of the building parking, main entrance, lobby, the office reception area, and the meeting room. You must make accommodations/alterations to ensure he has a continuous and unobstructed entrance and travel to the meeting room. Once in the meeting room, consider the consumption of food and beverages, seating arrangements, restroom facilities, and communication & participation in the meeting. Use the chart below to turn in your assignment. In each of the 5 areas you need to identify a possible barrier for John. Then, you will find an accommodation to avoid that his impairment becomes a handicap. Last, you are to search for and list resources such as items, services, or technologies that can help with accessibility and participation. See my example below the table. Remember you must use the table format for your assignment. Essays and or paragraphs will not be graded. Parking Ticket Meeting Room Office Reception Building Lobby Main Entrance
