Simple Machines Lab Purpose: To measure the ideal mechanical advantage and the actual mechanical advantage for a class-2 leveler and a single moveable pulley. Procedure: This experiment was kind of fun once it was set up properly. I had some difficulties finding a place to hang everything beings though I live in a small apartment. I used a push up bar I have hanging on my wall, that was the best support I could get unfortunately. When I finally did get it going, I was amazed by the way you could level everything out evenly or even unlevel it. In my experiment my wife was my assistant. Having her as an assistant was helpful when it came to trying to get everything going at once. Sorry for my pictures in advance I 1

Calculations: Discussion: For the lever, the IMA the numbers did not add up as I expected. I didn’t think there would be much change but there was. The IMA was 2.6 and the AMA was 6.9. 5
For the pulley, the IMA and the AMA leveled as expected. They changed, but they did not change a lot. The IMA was 260 and the AMA was 240. That’s not to much of a difference. Destinee Santiago (2023) 6
