Written Problem Set 1
Please note that the final version is a different form
Directions
:
1.
Solve the following problems.
Hand write
your solutions and explanations
on your own paper. Do not type answers on this page.
2.
Show your work
AND explain your reasoning using complete English
sentences.
●
Divide your paper into two columns.
●
In the left hand column, you will show your work including all necessary
steps, on separate lines, of the solution.
●
In the right hand column, aligned with your steps, you will explain the
mathematical concepts for the steps and
why
you chose to do that step.
3.
Take a picture of your solution and explanation.
Insert that image, cropped to
only show the solution and explanation of the indicated problem, as a replacement
for the
italicized
words after each problem.
Failure to crop the image to show
only the part of the problem asked for with no extra white space will result in a
grade of zero for that part of the problem
4.
Once you are done, you will click File --> Download --> PDF Document (.pdf) to
save a pdf copy to your computer or drive.
5.
Return to the assignment page where you will click the submit button.
You will
get an upload window where you will click choose file and navigate to this saved
file.
6.
You must attempt each question to receive credit for completing this
assignment.
(Please note: failure to receive full credit for this part of the
assignment will prohibit you from completing the rest of the assignment.)
IMPORTANT:
This is not a test.
You are allowed to ask for help on InScribe.
Make
sure you post an image of the question you are asking about AND what you have
tried so far.
