This allows teachers to incorporate videos and media into their classrooms. These lessons also align with state and national teaching standards that are included in each lesson. Cool Math Games Cool Math Games contains various math games that focus on trivia, logic, number skills, and strategy. There are three different sites to use based on students' grade and learning levels
Online Field Trip 1 that are able to be accessed. The first is for students ages 13 and up, the second is for students ages 12 and under, and the third is for all ages. Association of Teachers of Mathematics The Association of Teachers of Mathematics (ATM) provides classroom materials for students and trainings for teachers. They also provide up-to-date research and journal articles related to teaching math. Some materials and resources are free, but most resources are only available with a paid membership. Online Field Trip 1 site. Using manipulatives, even virtual manipulatives, allows students to visualize math problems making them easier to solve and understand. Seeing Theory Seeing Theory is a website focusing on teaching statistics. There are six chapters that students can work through: basic probability, compound probability, probability distributions, frequent inference, Bayesian interference, and regression analysis. Each chapter is broken down into 3 lessons that students can study to progress through the course. Interactivate Interactive is a website providing math and science activities, dictionaries, and tools for students, as well as lessons, discussions, and standards for teachers. The mission of Interactive is to create and collect course material that provide students with interactive exploration in the subjects of science and mathematics. The sight is searchable by subject and category which are broken down into other search features such as audience, topic, and resource type. All of the materials on the site corelate to supported math textbooks that can be used in the classroom. Estimation - Hundreds Estimation-Hundreds is a website that offers paid memberships, but some activities are available for free. Teachers can use the provided templates to create online content and activities. Teachers can use the site for tests. The website grades these tests for you and provides immediate feedback to teachers. Random Services - Apps Random Services-Apps is a website that provides two types of math practice for students: simulation and data generation. Simulation apps are random simulations of math processes that
Online Field Trip 1 are designed to show the relationships between prediction and process. Data generation apps are auto generated based on the games students choose. Defeat the Fraction Monster - Play Fraction Games Defeat the Fraction Monster - Play Fraction Games is a website that helps students practice working with fractions by playing math games. Many of these activities are also available to print and use as whole-class lessons. Playing games helps children overcome any fears or anxieties they may have about working with fractions because these math situations are disguised as fun games that children enjoy. Maze Game The Maze Game is a Battleship style virtual game in which students work only against themselves to navigate a robot across a mine field while avoiding mines. Students are able to practice working with and interpreting graphs and using the Cartesian coordinate system. Students are also introduced to the concept of slope and plotting points on a graph. IXL Math IXL Math is a website that provides interactive math games fro students in grades pre-K through 12. Students progress through skills at their own pace which provides easy differentiation to accommodate the various needs of students. By practicing math skills on IXL Math students are able to gain a better understanding of number operations and gain fluency in basic mathematics skills and facts. Kahoot! Kahoot allows teachers to, “incorporate challenges, rewards, and competition” in their lesson plans (“Kahoot”, n.d., pp. 2). Kahoot offers differentiated instruction for ELL students by
Online Field Trip 1 allowing students to choose between 18 languages. Teacher memberships start at $3.99 per month. Best Sites The first website I wound rank in the top five is Illuminations. It was designed by educators to help struggling students by providing additional practice with math. They use high quality resources and align their materials with educational theories and Common Core State Standards. The lesson plans they provide are made to engage students and hold their attention. They provide resources for students and teachers of preschool through 12 th grade. The second website I wound rank in the top five is IXL. They offer resources in math, ELA, science, social studies, and Spanish for grades K-12 all in one standardized platform. All questions and answers have read-aloud options to support young students and students who struggle in reading. Questions in each lesson are scaffolded based on students’ previous responses. This allows students with mastery to move on, while students still learning are provided more opportunities to practice each skill. The third website I wound rank in the top five is NCTM. They write and provide the national standards for teaching mathematics in America. They also provide continuing education for teachers and provide the latest research on successful teaching methods. Teachers can benefit from the wide array of resources they offer. There are also many classroom resources linked on this site that teachers can use when planning instruction. The fourth website I wound rank in the top five is Kahoot. Kahoot provides many different interactive math games that students can play. Teachers can also easily incorporate Kahoot games into their lessons. Because students will be playing games at their level of competence, each students game play will differ. This can be especially helpful when working

Online Field Trip 1 with ELL students, gifted, and struggling learners all in one classroom. Kahoot provides games in many languages providing even more support for ELL students. The fifth website I wound rank in the top five is PBS Learning Media. This website provides detailed lesson plans and the state and national standards that align with each. Included in each lesson are interactive video clips that will keep students engaged because they include loved children’s characters that students are already familiar with. Using short videos in each lesson is especially helpful when teaching younger elementary students who cannot yet read fluently and are being introduced to many new topics and ideas. It is easy and free to take these resources and adapt them to meet the needs of their classroom and their learning schedule. In summation, after reviewing all of the assigned websites I found the following to be most useful for my future teaching career: Illuminations, IXL, NCTM, Kahoot, and PSB learning. All of these sites provide wonderful resources for teachers in the subject area of math, and some provide other subjects as well. In planning to teach K-2 students I my career, I feel that these five sites will be most useful for my classroom as they provide specific math instruction and practice to engage younger students. They also make it easier to incorporate differentiated instruction into daily lessons so that the needs of all of the students in the class can be met with ease. These websites would also be great to use as stand-by in the case of an emergency substitute teacher or for everyday use for students who finish their assigned tasks with time to spare.
