MATH101 – Workplace Mathematics Graphing Project Directions and Rubric This Assessment, worth 10% of your grade. Deadline Parts #1, 2, and 3 are due by the end of Week 6 at 11:59 pm, ET. Final Submission is due by the end of Week 7 at 11:59 pm, ET. Completing this Assessment will help you to meet the following: Course Outcomes o Communicate workplace information accurately in the form of a chart and graph by checking for reasonableness. Institutional Outcomes o Quantitative and Scientific Reasoning: Follow established methods of inquiry and mathematical reasoning to form conclusions and make decisions. Description of Assessment: This 4-part project determines students’ ability to develop workplace information in the form of a chart and graph. Purpose of Assessment: The purpose of this assessment is for students to demonstrate their understanding of charts and graphs in relation to the workplace environment. This assessment will enhance a student’s ability to read, interpret and create workplace information in the form of charts and graphs and check for reasonableness of the information depicted. Directions: Rough Draft (due by the end of Week 6): There are three options that you may choose from to retrieve your data and create your graphs: Option #1 (CJ), Option #2 (Business), or Option #3 (Medical). For each option, there is a Microsoft Word document under the Week 6 Graphing Report Rough Draft. Choose only one option for your project. Then using the information and data provided within the chosen Microsoft Word document, you will create three graphs and answer questions about each graph in your Microsoft Word document. This will cover Parts #1, #2 and #3 of the project. Upload your Word document to the W6: Graphing Report Rough Draft assignment link under Week 6. Final Submission (due by the end of Week 7): Finally, within your Word document, you will compose a short reflection and summary about the report and how the knowledge, skills, and capabilities are related to the workplace. This is Part #4. Note: all four Parts (the graphs, answers to the questions
MATH101 Graphing Project 2 and reflection) will need to be in one Word file and formatted according to APA guidelines.
