Saved What is the Antecedent? Joe throws his pencil and rips his paper during math whenever he is given double-digit math problems. When this behavior is exhibited, Joe is sent to the office. Question 1 options: Question 2 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What is the Consequence? Nancy cries during reading time whenever she is asked to work by herself. The teacher sees the texting and gives the student detention for breaking the rule about no texting in class. Question 8 options: Question 9 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcement? Last night, your family had a big dinner at your sister's house. Unfortunately, the macaroni and cheese was bland. You added salt on your own dinner to improve the taste of the food.  Question 9 options: Question 10 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcer? These are reinforcers that are not related to any biological function or need. Their ability to modify behavior is a result of each person's unique history of interactions with his or her environment. Question 10 options: Question 11 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What is the term? This is the trigger event that occurs before the behavior is exhibited. Question 11 options: Question 12 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What is the term? The ice-cold water tasted so wonderful and cooled me down after the long 5 mile run. I was so thirsty. How did the setting variables influence my desire for water? This was a ___________________. Question 12 options: Question 13 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcer? Tokens used on a token board is a _____________________. Question 13 options: Question 14 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What is the strategy? The process by which (a) an antecedent event (b) exerts control over behavior through (c) differential pairing with consequences for responding.
Question 14 options: Question 15 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcer? A stimulus change that functions as a reinforcement even when the learner do not have a learning history. Question 15 options: Question 16 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcement? Fewer than five responses per 5 minutes, fewer than 4 responses per 5 minutes, fewer than 3 responses per 5 min. What type of schedule of reinforcement is this? Question 16 options: Question 17 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcer? On this schedule of reinforcement produces reinforcement whenever a response occurs before a time criterion has elapsed. If the time criterion is 30 seconds, a response produces reinforcement only when the IRT is 30 seconds or less. What type of schedule of reinforcement is this? Question 17 options: Question 18 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcement? The time criterion is 50 seconds, a response produces reinforcement only when the IRT is 50 seconds or greater. Question 18 options: Question 19 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcer? With a ________________ 2-minute schedule, the first response following the elapse of 2 minutes produces the reinforcer. Question 19 options: Question 20 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcement? Every fifth correct (or target) response produces reinforcement on a __________________ 5 schedule. Question 20 options: Question 21 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved

What type of reinforcement? In a ____________ 5-min schedule the average duration of the timed intervals between reinforcement and the opportunity for subsequent reinforcement is 5 minutes. Question 21 options: Question 22 (Mandatory)  (1 point)     Saved What type of reinforcement? A ________________ scheduled of reinforcement requires the completion of a variable number of responses to produce a reinforcer. Question 22 options: WEEK 1: Define and provide examples of positive reinforcement (B-4): Summarize at least 3 personal goals for this class? (i.e., What do you hope to learn? What outcomes do you anticipate to see?) (At least 1 paragraph) Provide 2 examples of positive reinforcement. Be sure to include the antecedent, behavior, and consequence of the scenario. (At least 2 paragraphs) My first personal goal for this class in to complete the assignments prior to the due date instead of waiting to do the day that it is due. My second personal goal is to write notes while doing the readings so that I can look back at it to study. My last personal goal is to truly focus while doing the SAFMEDS and try to not focus on memorizing the answer bur to understand it and be able to use it in my own examples. From this class I hope to gain a better understand especially in this particular section. There are so many different terms and terms that can get confused with others, so I really hope to gain a better understanding of them and be confident while using them. According to Cooper ( 2020), positive reinforcement is when immediately after a behavior, a stimulus is presented that will then increase the frequency of the behavior in the future. Positive means that something is being add and reinforcement means that the behavior itself will increase in its frequency. I am mother of two and I am often finding myself using positive reinforcement and can see how beneficial it is to strengthen the appropriate behaviors. One example that I use with my two kids is when they come home school with homework. The antecedent in this scenario is me telling them that they need to complete their homework and it being placed on the table before doing anything else. Their behavior is grabbing a pencil and finishing their homework that is due the following day. The consequence is they get
some time on their iPad. The iPad serves as a positive reinforcement because the frequency of them completing their homework in a timely manner increased. Another example of positive reinforcement I use with my two kids often is verbal praise. For example, I use positive reinforcement to help encourage my younger child to brush her teeth without complaining. The antecedent is usually the timer going off that says it’s time to brush her teeth or me telling her to brush her teeth. The behavior is my younger child going to the bathroom and brushing her teeth. The consequence is me telling her something along the lines of “good job” paired with tickles. Positive reinforcement is a staple in my household and something that I will continue to use daily. Citation: Cooper, J.O., Heron, T.E., & Heward, W.L. (2020).
