MATH 201 Course Project deliverable 2. Data and research question ● Name:
Question 1. Create one research question and select a data set to test your research question. Your research question should be one of the two types outlined in “Data and Research Questions.” Note that the data set should align with the research question and contains at least 20 observations. State the research question and data source. Research question: Is the mean coral reef underwater temperatures in Florida continuing to rise year after year which is causing the coral species to die off. Data source: https://coastal.er.usgs.gov/data-release/doi-F71C1TZK/
Question 2. Identify the variable(s) to test your research question. Some variables in the data could be the time of year, which part of the keys you are in, if it is a sunny day or overcast, even if it rained that day could cool off the water a little bit. Question 3.
Using Excel, calculate the descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation, and five-number summary) of your data set. If your research question is to compare the mean of two groups, calculate the descriptive statistics for each group’s data set. (25%)
