To ensure accuracy and consistency in research I would use standardized instruments and measurements that have been evaluated for their reliability and validity. I would specify the variables being measured clearly and consistently across all studies with the data collection consistent and uniform throughout the investigation ensuring the data analysis techniques would be suitable for the data being collected. Quantitative data, such as program statistics and output measures, will be used to assess the program's performance. Qualitative data, such as surveys and interviews with employees, will be used to assess individual performance and identify areas for improvement. The way I would assess the performance of the employees is: upon their hire date they will have an hour set aside each week for us to meet and talk about their week and provide extra training on any issues they have. After 1 year it will deviate down 2x a month and after 6 months it will deviate down to 1x a month and shall remain in effect until the employee is no longer employed. After each meeting, there will be a copy of the notes and then a survey with responses from the employees on their thoughts about the satisfaction or dissatisfaction with their staffing. It will be in a PDF so they can sign and return it to me to go in their permanent file. Overall, the goal is to create a comprehensive picture of the program's performance by collecting and analyzing data from a variety of sources.
The process of communicating the findings of the program evaluation will involve tailoring the message to different audiences. For example, for the public, I will create a plain-language summary of the findings that is easy to understand and digest. For stakeholders such as legislators, I will create a more detailed report that includes information about the findings and their implications. For employees, I will create a report that includes information on their performance, as well as strategies for improvement outlined above in the employee assessment I laid out. Annual public forum – report of any data that we have collected during the year – How many arrests for what crimes and what we are planning to address these changes and what our plans are for the next year of things we will be hoping to work on – budget etc. Post all proposals in the local newspaper announcing a proposal to be televised (3 months away) with an invitation to a public forum to voice their questions, and concerns and then vote if they could put them on the upcoming ballot. If they approve, then we would go to the next step and televise the proposal and the city/county forum votes as allowing it on the ballot or not allowing it on the ballot with an invitation to the public to write letters in support of or against until the time comes to vote. I want to thank you for giving us a great semester. You showed grace to all of us and this taught us how to fix our assignments to get a better grade, this allowed us to get hands-on teaching moments with you. You have offered each of us one-on-one time by doing this. For that, thank you. You truly made this class personal and gave me a clearer vision of why I chose this career. You have built a passion inside of me. It takes a special instructor to light a fire in a student through online collaboration and that is a historical moment of showing it can be done.
