WCSI ORGANIZATION 1 Critical Thinking Essay Week 8 Amanda Ibarra Park University
WCSI ORGANIZATION 2 Abstract The four future trends in Organizational Development are (1) the organization will continue to struggle with the pace of change, (2) increase in technology complexity, (3) global and demographically diverse workforce, and (4) changes in work practices and values. While all play a significant role in OD, we will examine the two that are more affective at WCSI. Through these two, WCSI will develop as a whole and gain more perspective in what will help the organization succeed with a team that works as one and benefits all with the success that is attainable.
WCSI ORGANIZATION 3 WCSI Organizational Development WCSI has undergone a restructuring within all departments, with a deeper concentration to the accounting dept. and its procedures. The fundamental changes on how we work and how we organize the organization’s processes and procedures will help shape the services we provide and live up to the promise in providing our clients with an effective, sustainable organization that will provide top services for all our client’s workers compensation needs. Organization development within WCSI will offer a compelling vision for every department. The increase in technological complexity and changes in work practices and values will provide WCSI with the knowledge and opportunity to improve the shortfalls and obtain a more profitable annual revenue. Increase in Technology Complexity Technology has evolved from what many seniors in organizations are not accustomed to. Older organizations and senior employees may find that they themselves have a web of interconnected platforms that make their role and the use of technology more difficult to understand. WCSI ORGANIZATION 4 the process of the organization, we are analyzing all ideas and trying them out. So far, they have all worked to improve WCSI’s filing system and have made it easy for any employee to navigate through the file and find what is needed. Changes in Work Practices and Values In changing and restructuring WCSI’s work practices, procedures have been set in place that have organized the process employees follow in order to provide the promised expertise and care for our client’s workers compensation claims. Prior practices led to a loss of year-end financial profit. There has also been a loss of client’s as there were unsatisfactory methods used to communicate and keep clients up to date on their claim files. Changing practices were analyzed per department and structured to each department’s services and needs. WCSI’s values aim to protect our client’s interest and exceed their expectations. Our clientele appreciates the time and effort we put into every aspect of their claim files. Approaching each case file with our full attention and dedication aims to protect their interests. Keeping our values in line is the goal and assuring that our practices are structured and adhered to will help WCSI meet their goals and prove our values to be true. Rethinking the Way WCSI Delivers Services . WCSI’s goals in the context of organizational development is to transform our organization in a fundamental way. The dedicated interventions and training provided to all employees with the new structure, process, procedures, and technological complexity will require more integrated functions that will fit into our business agenda. Working with each department lead, empowering each employee, and enabling them to take the lead will be a contribution to our success.
WCSI ORGANIZATION 5 Conclusion Organizational development is the structure base to any organization’s success. Being able to analyze the issues an organization faces allows for the identification of areas that may hinder the growth of the company. It also allows for the identification of areas where employees can be analyzed and brought to the attention of reorganizing their processes and structuring procedures that will improve the areas of concern. WCSI using OD to improve their structure has allowed the company and its employees to improve with favorable results.
